Most of us are familiar with the story of Jesus. What is often overlooked is that the story consist of two distinct parts. There’s the content of the story – the details of Jesus life and experiences. Then there’s the structure of the story.

The structure is the agreement we all make that the content of the story should fit within a framework of 13 years of hidden education, followed by grassroots organizing, trials and tribulations, and murder. Further, we are even presented with the notion that a true deity has the power to rise again in three days. “If he doesn’t rise we killed the right man!”

Do you want to live in a society that expects you to die for your beliefs if you won’t back down from them? Don’t blame Jesus. The Bible has been edited thousands of times. Why? Were those editors on the scene? Did they know better than the prophet what should be told and what should not? What other value is there in changing a text that billions follow small pieces at a time?

It’s a way of enforcing an invisible structure around the thinking of the next person who takes up that pattern. An Hegelian Box.

Read this excerpt from my new book, Kelly Yvonne, for a closer look at how to understand the Hegelian Box in this situation.

Walking on Water

As an aside to this post, I wanted to mention that I read a news story about a group of meteorologists who researched climate records and interpolated their findings back to the time of Jesus Christ. They determined that it was probable that ice flows on the Sea of Galilee would have been breaking apart at the time Jesus was said to have walked on water. If this story is true then it is likely that he stood on a hunk of ice so the crowd could see him better. This would then be turned into a story of Jesus walking on water.

I like this idea! If a man commanded the power to walk on water, why not use it to save a drowning victim? Why not spare theatrics for thespians and use all your power for positive changes and good acts? I think Jesus was that kind of human being. He wouldn’t have tried to inspire followers with magic tricks. He wanted to change people’s hearts and minds for the better so they could follow in his path. Not follow him until some other person with a bigger magic trick came along. He probably endured the cold to speak to those people because he was humble and willing to get a little wet and a little cold for the sake of progress.

Who’s Next?

What should concern our current society is not how the structure of the story of Jesus creates a pattern for our minds, but how the propaganda of the Anti-Christ, Nazi Zombies and Apocalypse might allow whoever is behind these manipulations to influence, destroy or alter the message of the next great prophet while at the same time claiming to have kept the public from harm. These words create instant pictures of evil within the minds of the people who hear them because we hear them so much without any explanation or evidence that they are true. How can you possibly know if someone is good or evil until you listen to what they say and judge the merits of their words in your own mind?

Hegel suggests that we move from a state of savage to tyranny and then to improved liberty. That can’t happen if those in power are content to remain – as savages – void of compassion with which they could filter their thoughts before they become harmful reactions.

Don’t Give Up On Jesus! (or any positive example of behavior)

Just because the structure of the story has the potential to limit thinking doesn’t mean the content is bad. In fact, the story of Jesus is a story of triumph of one man’s spirit against fear. There will not be another Jesus Christ. To expect that is silly. So is to expect anything “anti-“. Prophecies in general are nothing but history until people decide to turn them into the future.

There is a potential for billions of people to write their own stories of harmless and successful climbs from obscurity to heights of leadership outside of present authority structures. We need this. The Aquarian Age will likely present us with the re-emergence of personal responsibility as a behavior control. To do so efficiently and with the least inconvenience requires new ways of thinking. See my post on innovations to American politics for more detailed information. At a high level, think about these innovations:

  • Address the underlying problems that lead to reckless and harmful behavior. Don’t be afraid to apply treatment to problems that aren’t really crime. Don’t be afraid to recognize that no problem worth jailing someone is cliche, nor are its solutions.
  • Differentiating harm from personal risk and removing the negative stereotypes of “criminal” from personally risky actions like drug use.
  • Creation of abundance through the honest investment of government, communities and financial institutions in innovations.
  • Heal the fissures of men (and women) in the world with changes to certain archetypal structures. The images, sounds, and scripts that surround us create our future.
  • Fix the Legal System. In some places it has developed into a Vengeance System. In others it’s become a Profit System. In all cases it requires a return to the Justice System. Once it’s fixed, don’t use it for behavior modification.
  • Fix the Political System. Once it’s fixed, don’t use it for behavior modification.
  • Behavioral control structures are abundant and will be for some time to come. Some of them, such as tradition or local mores will be around decades. Take steps to counteract the self-sustaining effects of negative thinking. For example, an opt-in media filtering system is the flip-side of a harmful content spoofing web browser.
  • Get ready for visitors from other worlds. And from hidden places on this one too. From a metaphysical perspective, we should be on the way to unity within our fractured communities before this takes place.
  • Eliminating the notion of people “not like us” within our country and world will make room for the ones not like us that we weren’t expecting.
  • Don’t be afraid of other human beings.
  • Authority that can’t be easily taken away is tyranny. Control hiding behind authority that is regularly blamed and then taken away can be tyranny too. We see you back there…
  • Be nice.
